Habs Boys’ Jewish students celebrate outstanding results
Two members of the Habs Jewish Society, one grandson of a Holocaust survivor have registered exceptional results for their A-Levels at the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School.
Ben Schwarzmann, Dan Gilbey and Oliver Russell were congratulated by their school following Thursday’s announcement.
Ben, who is the School’s Vice-Captain, 1st XI football captain, School Council Chair and Chairman of the Jewish Society and Jewish Assembly, achieved 4A*s. He will go Warwick University to study Economics.
Dan, who is a member of the Jsoc, achieved 3As*, while Oliver, who’s grandparent is a survivor of the Shoah, is heading to Pembroke College, Cambridge, after getting 3A* grades.
Gilbey said: ” “I cannot really put into words how happy I am with my results. I am very relieved and look forward to what the future holds. Thanks to the School for helping me get
here.”
Ben added: “I am absolutely ecstatic as the hard work has certainly paid off. Thanks to all my teachers. Habs is great place – the School has helped me receive straight A*s whilst allowing me to play a number of sports.”
Gus Lock, Headmaster, warmly congratulated the boys, saying he was “immensely proud and delighted.”
They have worked tremendously hard, not only in preparing for examinations, but also on the sports pitches, on the drama stage, in the music hall, and on the many rewarding charity and community events and initiatives at Habs.”
14 secure places to Oxbridge from JFS
14 students from JFS have secured places at the country’s top two universities during A Level results day.
Amongst the highest achieving students are:
Ariel Flint-Ashery and Lola Sofer-Yadgaroff – 4 A*s
Jonathan Cordell and Jemima Moore – 1A* and 3As
James Onona – 4As
Outgoing Head boy and Head girl David Cohen and Ilana Cantor both attained 3A*s.
Ilana who is off to study History at Lincoln College Oxford said: “JFS has given me a great foundation for my future, not only in terms of academic results but for life in general”.
‘Exceptional’ JFS students celebrate 21 percent A*s
Europe’s largest Jewish secondary school has seen almost 22% of its students exam results at A* grade for 2019 A Levels.
The school saw 49.6 percent of grades at either A* or A, and over 75 percent between A*-B.

Hasmonean boys’ progress heralded
Hasmonean High School for Boys has announced that 48% of A Level students attained A*/A grades, and 67% gained A*-B grades.
The majority of students will study at yeshiva, before taking up places at institutions including Cambridge and Russell Group universities.
Headteacher of Hasmonean Boys’ School, Mrs Debbie Lebrett, said: “We are especially delighted by the progress students have made both academically and personally during their time at Hasmonean.
We know that in future years the whole community will benefit from their success. Our thanks go to each and every member of staff who have made a difference to their lives.”
Hasmonean head ‘exceptionally proud’ of girls’ success
45% of A Level students at Hasmonean High School for Girls attained A*/A grades, while 67% gained A*-B grades.
With a 99 percent pass rate at the Girl’s school, Executive Headteacher Andrew McClusky said: We are delighted that our students have coped so well with the challenging A level specifications this year. Our BTEC and EPQ results are also very pleasing indeed. I am grateful to the teachers who prepared them so well, and to all of our staff who support our students in countless ways.
“We are exceptionally proud of our students’ academic achievements as well as their wonderful work for charities and tremendous commitment to Jewish learning.

Headteacher praises ‘accomplished Mensches’ at JCoSS
JCoSS Headteacher Patrick Moriarty welcomed his students’ performances, saying the school is “delighted by another set of excellent results, and by further increases on all previous years.”
Both academic and vocational outcomes are testament to the exceptional hard work and dedication of staff and students.”
He added, they “take pride not only in the academic accomplishments of our students but in the qualities that have grown in them during their time at JCoSS.
They leave as accomplished Mensches, embodying the values of the school and the wider community, and ready to act as ambassadors for both as they step forward on the next phase of their journey.”

JCoSS in Barnet announced another year of impressive record-breaking results, with 8 students securing a place at Oxford or Cambridge, while another student secured her place at medical school.
Overall, 44% of grades were either A* or A, and 76% were at Grade B or above.

‘Record-breaking achievements’
Immanuel College Head Master Gary Griffin was delighted with students results, saying: “Congratulations to the students on these record-breaking achievements, which come hot on the heels of our outstanding inspection report. Both are the result of hard work, dedication and excellent teaching.
“We are incredibly proud of our students who leave us exceptionally well prepared to pursue their aspirations and goals beyond Immanuel. I wish all of our pupils, and their parents, mazel tov!”
Yavneh College head ‘amazed’ by students’ results
Yavneh College’s headteacher has praised his students for attaining 53% A*-A grades in this year’s A-Level results.
Spencer Lewis said: “Each year, I am amazed at just how well our students do and this year is no exception.”
53% of grades are A* or A which is a truly remarkable achievement, particularly given the level of difficulty of the A Level examinations this year.”
Four students have gained places to study at Oxbridge while 3 have places to study medicine.

Immanuel celebrates record-breaking results!
Immanuel College is celebrating a record-breaking set of A Level results with 90% of students achieving A*- B, the highest proportion ever in its history!
Two thirds of all grades were A*- A, with 30% exclusively at A*.
Outstanding performers were:
Toby Boyne – 5 A* grades and will take up a place at Cambridge to study Engineering.
Omer Elchanan who gained 4 A* grades and will take up a place at Cambridge to study Medicine.
Tom Mazin who gained 3 A* grades and 1 A and will study Aerospace Engineering at Nottingham University.
Emily Pearlman who gained 3 A* grades and 1 B and will study Economics and Mathematics at Bristol University.
Noah Rubin who gained 3 A* grades and will study Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London.
